Pakistan Will Not Tolerate India Using Water as a We@pon,” Says PM Shehbaz Sharif

"India-Pakistan water dispute"

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has strongly stated that Pakistan will not tolerate India by using water as a strength tool. His strong remarks underlined the seriousness of the issue and underlined the government’s unwavering trend to protect the country’s water rights.

The statement comes amidst the ongoing tension between the two neighbors on the Indus Water Treaty, which controls the sharing of the river resources. Signed in 1960, the agreement allocates the water of the Indus river system between India and Pakistan. However, recent Indian infrastructure projects have expressed concern over potential violations and uneven distribution in Islamabad.

PM Shahbaz emphasized that water security is not only an economic or agriculture concern, but a matter of national existence. He warned that Pakistan’s food security, livelihood and economic stability are on proper reach to the shared river water.

The Prime Minister assured the public that Pakistan would pursue all diplomatic and legal paths to protect its water rights. He revealed that the government is collaborating with Hydrology experts, legal teams and international colleagues to counter any unilateral measures by India.

His strong message serves as a clear warning – both domestic and globally – that Pakistan will not return to this important issue. Along with increasing climate pressures and water disputes in the region, the government is committed to defending the right part of Pakistan at any cost.
