Why This Is Dangerous
Meta claims chats are private by default, but critics argue the interface is misleading:
- No Clear Warnings: The app doesn’t alert users when they hit “Share.”
- Public by Default: If your Instagram is public, Meta AI shares inherit the same visibility.
- No Encryption: Unlike WhatsApp, Meta AI chats aren’t end-to-end encrypted, meaning Meta can access them.
How to Protect Yourself
- Disable Public Sharing: Go to Profile > Data & Privacy and toggle “Make all prompts visible only to you.”
- Unlink Public Accounts: Avoid logging in via public Instagram or Facebook profiles.
- Avoid the Share Button: Unless you want a post to go viral, don’t use it.
- Delete Past Data: Type /reset-ai in chats to erase history.
